Department of Allied Health Sciences Academic Advising Office
The purpose of the Department of Allied Health Sciences Academic Advising Office is to provide students with information and services in order that each student is equipped to make informed decisions regarding his/her education and academic pursuits in the Health Professions.
The goals of Academic Advising are to assist students interested in majors in the Department of Allied Health Sciences in a variety of capacities to ensure that University, Department, and major requirements are met. Additionally, advisors work with students who are undecided about a health career and who are exploring major options to identify goals, interests, strengths and abilities so that they can make decisions and pursue academic majors that meet their personal and professional goals.
The Department of Allied Health Sciences Academic Advising Office provides services to:
Current Allied Health Students to:
- Answer questions about possible health careers (undergraduate and graduate careers)
- Help students explore career interests and to match those interests with degree programs within the department
- Review major/program requirements and student compliance with those requirements
- Provide information and guidance regarding program admission procedures, registration, general education requirements, pre-requisites for courses, and course selection.
- Provide information to students who wish to change their Program (school or college)/ Plan (major).
- Select appropriate classes for the upcoming semester registration
- Develop a plan of study
- Provide information/assist students who wish to add/drop a course, have their bar lifted and acquire consent /permission forms for a variety of course related issues.
- Provide information regarding resources and specialized programs within the university
Prospective Students to:
