The Practicum Semester:
The final semester of the Molecular Diagnostics Certificate Program is a 6-month, full-time (40 hrs/wk) practicum experience in Molecular Diagnostics (January – June or July – December). Students are assigned to one or more affiliated laboratories to fulfill this requirement. Only a few sites are within commuting distance of Storrs, therefore, students may have to relocate for the practicum semester.
Required coursework for the practicum semester:
DGS 251 Specimen Processing (2 cr.)
