Tina is an Extension Instructor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Implementing curricula she developed for the supervised practice component of two community nutrition courses, she connects dietetics students to food stamp eligible individuals and families to teach healthy behaviors related to the purchase, preparation and consumption of nutritious foods, along with increasing knowledge of the importance of physical activity. The University’s outreach to low-income and culturally diverse individuals is increased while the dietetics students gain competence in public health nutrition knowledge and skills.
